Man airlifted to Rochester

A 22-year-old Albert Lea man was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital Sunday after he collided with a vehicle in the lane next to him and rolled his Chevrolet Silverado on Interstate 90 in Martin County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, William L. Conley was traveling westbound on I-90 just after 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the right lane, when he was making a lane change and collided with another vehicle in the left lane, causing him to roll.
Conley received minor injuries. The injuries of the driver of the second vehicle, Philip Vanderlaan, 58, of Grand Haven, Mich., were not documented.
Gold Cross, Fairmont First Responders and Fairmont Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
The State Patrol stated alcohol was detected in Conley’s system. He was transported to Fairmont Hospital and then airlifted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
The roadway was dry at the time, according to the State Patrol.
Driver cited on multiple charges
Jacob Ross Knutson, 33, no address listed, was cited by Albert Lea police at 11:27 p.m. Monday on charges of second degree test refusal, second degree DWI, felony theft of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, and drive after revocation.
Motor scooter driver injured
Vernon Eugene Classon , 78, no address listed, was injured when the motor scooter he was operating became involved in an accident at the corner of 780th Avenue and County Road 46 east of Albert Lea. The report by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office said Classon was taken to the Albert Lea Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Also responding to this accident was the Albert Lea Police Department and Albert Lea Township Fire Department.
