OWATONNA — A missing 5-year-old boy has been found safe in Owatonna and his mother has been arrested.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued a crime alert Saturday night after the non-custodial mother fled with the Belle Plaine boy. Police say they found the two in Owatonna Sunday afternoon.

Arrangements are reportedly being made to return the child to his father. The 29-year-old mother from Montgomery was taken into custody.
