MANCHESTER — The work being done at Jens Print is “like magic,” according to one employee.

Debbie Engebretson is the director of advertising and communications at JensPrint and has been for 18 years. The company is owned by Paul Jensen and has been in operation since 1989, when it originally opened in Clarks Grove before moving to Albert Lea. Its location is at 200 Main St. in Manchester, where it’s open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The business provides personalized and custom garment printing on items such as shirts, tote bags, shop rags and bibs, among others. Turnaround can vary depending on the item and the amount of detail in the image being printed, but Engebretson said items are usually ready in about two business days.

Personalized picture quilts are one of Engebretson’s favorite items that JensPrint offers.

“It’s just so fun when people can put their own memories on things,” she said.

Engebretson said strong word of mouth has served the business well over the years. “The best thing is when someone comes in and says it’s because they saw our work.”

When asked what one of her favorite orders was, Engebretson couldn’t decide.

“Everyday is something different,” she said.

One order that did stick out in her mind was for a team jumping in the frigid lake water in February for The Big Freeze, a winter carnival in Albert Lea. JensPrint made up shirts for Team Jessica, a team of friends and family of the late Jessica Lokken who passed away in January of this year. The shirts had pickles all over the back as they were Jessica’s favorite snack.

The personal touch is what helps the business stand out, according to Engebretson.

“It just brings people so much happiness to make these things for their loved ones,” she said.
