When I hear the Albert Lea City Arena mentioned in town, the first person who comes to mind is Carol Colstrup. She has taught and coached skating lessons for 50 years or more.

I remember Carol teaching skating lessons at the original arena located on the fairgrounds. This arena was nicknamed “the Barn.”

I would like to see Carol honored at the current arena with her name on the wall or with a rink named after her.

I’m not a member of the club, but if I were a member, I would’ve had her name honored at the arena a long time ago.

Carol, I hope you have many more years of coaching and teaching skating lessons. Thumbs up.
