Elizabeth Larson, 101, of Wells, died April 3, 2014, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community in Albert Lea. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Peter Soli will officiate, and interment will be in Alden Cemetery. Elizabeth was born Sept. 30, 1912, in Kiester, the daughter of John and Marie Kleinschrodt. She was baptized in Kiester, and confirmed at Mansfield Lutheran Church. She graduated from Alden High School in 1930.
She was united in marriage to Leslie Hansen on Sept. 29, 1933. They had two sons Curtis and Ross. Elizabeth was widowed in 1952. She lived on a farm near Alden until moving into Wells in 1959. She married Harry O. Larson on Nov. 6, 1955. Elizabeth was an avid reader, excellent at crossword puzzles, loved to quilt, belonged to two card clubs and had also golfed and bowled. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son Ross (and his wife Joyce)Hansen of Albert Lea; daughter-in-law, Myrna Sorenson of Alden; four grandchildren Cammie (Wes) Tennis of Hayward, Troy (Jana) Hansen of Mankato, Jodi (Lee) Walters of Albert Lea, James (Teri) Hansen of Rochester; eight great-grandchildren Caylee and Bethany Tennis, Taylor and Tristan Hansen, Ryan (Jess) and Leah Walters, Nathan and Kelsey Hansen; two great-great-grandsons: Landon Walters and Logan Kilen; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband H. Leslie Hansen and Harry O. Larson, son Curtis Hansen; 4 sisters: Anna Fink, Emma Katzung, Rose Sorenson, Frieda Jensen and 5 brothers: John, Fred, George, Harold, and Herman Kleinschrodt.
