OWATONNA — Work to install automatic traffic recorders on Interstate 35 north of Owatonna has been delayed by cold weather and is expected to start April 22, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The project is delayed because of the unseasonable cold temperatures. The grout used to seal the automatic traffic recorders into the pavement requires warmer temperatures for the grout to cure.
The work was expected to begin on Tuesday but the cold weather forced the contractor to delay the completion of the work. When the work begins, motorists on I-35 north of Owatonna will encounter lane closures.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to take three days. The work in Steele County is near mile marker 46.
