Richard Springer, 1939-2014

Richard M. Springer was born on Feb. 7, 1939, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Arlene (Webster) Springer. He attended and graduated from Charles City High School. After graduating, Dick enlisted in the U.S. Army. On Dec. 26, 1958 he was united in marriage to Linda Wilson in Austin.
The couple moved to Idaho where Dick worked for Boeing Industry. He later started working in the construction business as a carpenter. The couple moved back to Mason City in 1975 where Dick worked for Winnebago Industries. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Albert Lea; children Kim Loftis of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Tammy Attebery of Moore, Okla., Richard (Rick) and wife, Terri Springer, of Forest City, Iowa, Bryon and wife, Sherri Springer, of Forest City and Mike Springer of Britt, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dick died on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Mayo Health System in Albert Lea.
Richard’s request was to not have any services, but to remember the times that were spent with each other.
