MINNEAPOLIS — Heavy rain and swollen waterways have caused the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to restrict commercial navigation on the Mississippi River.
Three Mississippi River locks in the Twin Cities are closed to commercial navigation because of high flows caused by the recent heavy rainfall.
Also, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says no-wake speed limits are in effect for the St. Croix River because of high water levels. That affects boaters on the St. Croix between Taylors Falls, and Prescott, Wis.
