Here are highlights in history for March 28, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1991 — A article by Barbara Ruiter featured the quilt makers of St. James Catholic Church of Forest City, Iowa. The article emphasized that the ladies were making a special quilt for the church centennial in July.

1981 — The advertised special at the County Kitchen, Highway 16 and 65 East, was two dinners of chopped beef steak with hash beans, salad and Texas toast for $4.49.

1961— Runoff from melting snow resulted in Fountain Lake flooding Lakeview Avenue from the Hatch Bridge to the entry road to Edgewater Park.
