AUSTIN — Habitat for Humanity of Freeborn and Mower counties is hosting its first annual Jeans and Jewels cocktail party and art auction at 6 p.m. May 8 at Dusty’s Bar and Restaurant.

Local artists donated their time and talent to create art from recycled materials for  the auction. Funds raised from the event will assist the organization in reaching its goal of building two homes this year.

Tickets are required for admittance to the auction and include light appetizers and one beverage. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at Austin Hy-Vee or the Habitat for Humanity office at 800 Seventh Ave. NE.
