ST. PAUL — Spring means many Minnesotans are pumping up their bicycle tires and heading out for a ride. And officials with the Department of Public Safety and the Department of Transportation say it’s a good time to remind motorists and bicyclists to share the road.

Officials say 18 bicyclists died on Minnesota roads from 2011 to 2013, and more than 2,600 were injured. Those numbers are down from the previous three-year period, when 32 bicyclists were killed and more than 2,800 were hurt.
