After John Marshall took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, the Tigers fought back to tie the game in the top of the third. However, the Rockets took the lead back in the bottom half of the inning and outscored the Tigers 8-2 through the final four innings.

Johnathan Fleek led the Tigers from the plate. He was 2-for-3 with an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base.

Albert Lea’s Wyatt Paulsen started his first game of the season on the mound. In two other games this year, he pitched in relief. Against John Marshall, he pitched 4 1/3 innings, struck out one batter and gave up 10 hits and four walks.

Next Albert Lea (4-4 overall, 3-4 Big Nine Conference) will play a home doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. today against Rochester Mayo.
