CONGER — A 50-year-old Walters woman was seriously injured Wednesday evening after her vehicle went off the road and rolled over on Freeborn County Road 17 about a mile east of the county line.
Patricia Louise Adams did not appear to be wearing her seat belt and was ejected from her SUV, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
Reports indicated Adams was driving eastbound on County Road 17 at 5:05 p.m. when she went off the road and into the southbound ditch.
Initial reports indicate Adams was on her smartphone at the time of the crash. Speed was also a factor, the reports said.
Mayo One helicopter transported Adams from the scene for what appeared to be life-threatening injuries.
Kiester Ambulance, Walters Fire and Ambulance, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Freeborn County Highway Department responded.
