NEW BRIGHTON — Prosecutors have charged the wife of a Minnesota man accused of fatally shooting their neighbor in a dispute over deer feeding.
Fifty-year-old Paula Anne Zumberge of New Brighton is charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting attempted second-degree murder.
New Brighton Police Chief Bob Jacobson said Zumberge was arrested late Thursday afternoon.
Zumberge’s husband, 57-year-old Neal Zumberge, is charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. Prosecutors said he killed his neighbor and wounded the man’s girlfriend Monday after the girlfriend called police on Zumberge’s adult son — who allegedly accused the couple of giving Neal Zumberge Lyme disease by feeding deer in their yard.
The complaint alleges Paula Zumberge was heard yelling “Shoot, shoot, shoot, keep shooting” while her husband was shooting a shotgun.
