Figure skaters take home awards

The Albert Lea Figure Skating Club presented its annual awards last Sunday at its banquet at Edgewater Park, according to a press release.
At the basic skills level, Makenzie VanderSyde received the Bunny Hop Award for the most improved skater, and
Evy Christensen received the Waltz Award for the coach’s choice.
At the freestyle level, Dani Helland received the Lutz Award for the most improved skater, Cammy Tewes received the Loop-y Award for the most-motivating and Carine Rofshus received the Flip Award for hardest-working. Receiving Axel Awards for coach’s choice were Kailey Christensen, coached by Anne Sternhagen, and Nikki Bos, coached by Suzanne Olson.
