CLARKS GROVE — The National Resources Conservation Service is set to host a field day for soil health this weekend.

The Spring Soil Health Field Day takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Glen H. “Fritz” Jensen farm, 29825 County Road 45, near Clarks Grove, according to a press release. The farm is two miles north of the city.

The event is free of charge. No registration is required.

Participants can:

• View soybeans planted into Winter Wheat.

• Talk with experts on management of cover crops and how they can work on your farm.

• See the benefits of cover crops on soil structure and tilth.

• Crop insurance representatives will highlight insurance options.

• Soil pits will be open in prevent plant to highlight the effects of cover crops on soil health.

Multiple stations will run on a continuous basis and start every 30 minutes. Come whenever you like and see as much as you can.
