The Human Rights Commission for the city of Albert Lea has received a Bremer training grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
A grant application was filed by the Albert Lea Commission for training, which was approved in April 2009. Upon approval, a project grant agreement was filed. The internal workshop and training for city leaders will be provided by Neighborhood House of St. Paul and will be held in October.
“We are pleased to have this opportunity to educate our members in the area of cross-cultural communication and the challenges facing residents with multi cultural backgrounds. It is our goal to learn practical tools to encourage positive cross cultural relationships and share this information with our residents of Albert Lea,” said Kathy Hatteberg, chairwoman of the local Human Rights Commission.
