ROCHESTER — Limited services will be available for about 10 weeks at the High Forest Rest Area on eastbound Interstate 90 near Rochester as it undergoes construction work to improve accessibility and facilities, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Construction work is set to begin today at the High Forest Rest Area, which is at milepost 202 for eastbound I-90 traffic, approximately seven miles west of the Stewartville exit, which also serves Rochester.
This MnDOT project will improve accessibility to the facility for all travelers and will enhance an efficient and effective transportation system and services to travelers.
Temporary, portable toilets will be available to travelers, but there is no running water during the construction period. Parking will be restricted to the truck parking lot during the construction work. The work is expected to be completed in August.
