Randene Davis, of Glenville, daughter of Lance and Sharon Davis, a sophomore and elementary education major, was one of 10 Wartburg College students who traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to participate in “The Different Facets of Service in Poverty” Feb. 28 through March 6.

The group worked with Graffiti Wipeout to paint over graffiti on city property. Students also volunteered at the San Antonio Food Bank, working in the community garden and sorting and packing food in the warehouse to be sent to areas in need.

In addition, the students helped build ramps for the Texas Ramp Project. The group wrapped up its service work at Haven for Hope, San Antonio’s homeless shelter.
