LUVERNE — Flood damage caused by recent storms has forced the closing of Blue Mounds State Park in southwestern Minnesota.
The state Department of Natural Resources said Wednesday the park will remain closed until further notice. All camping reservations at the park are being canceled through July 13.
Officials decided to close the park until repairs could be made and services restored.
The park, located near Luverne, has received more than 11 inches of rain since Saturday. The rapidly rising Blue Mounds Creek damaged roads, trails, a bison fence and the spillway connecting the dam to Lower Mound Lake.
