2 injured in freeway crash

GENEVA — Two people were injured Saturday afternoon after their vehicle rolled over a mile south of the Geneva exit on Interstate 35.
Larry R. Johnson, 48, of St. Paul reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel of a 1999 Ford pickup at 1:07 p.m., and the truck left the roadway and rolled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Johnson and his passenger, Brian T. Gore, 45, of Inver Grove Heights, were transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries. Their injuries were listed as not life-threatening.
Both men were wearing their seat belts. No alcohol was detected. The roadway was dry at the time of the crash.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by sheriff’s deputies from Steele and Freeborn counties, firefighters from Clarks Grove and Geneva, and first responders from Clarks Grove.
