National Active and Retired Federal Employees
National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 469 met June 10 at Pizza Ranch in Albert Lea. A report was given by the members who attended the NARFE State Convention May 20 and 21 in Owatonna. Minnesota state conventions will continue to be a two-day event. The location of the 2016 state convention will be in Willmar. The amount collected at the Alzheimer’s Silent Auction was $1,571. On a national level, the changes to NARFE and its by-laws proposed by the Future of NARFE committee to ensure the survival and longevity of NARFE were discussed. These changes will be voted on at the 2014 National Convention Aug. 24-28 in Orlando, Fla. The next meeting of Chapter 469 will be Aug. 12 at Pizza Ranch in Austin.
