Can obituaries from the past be dug up?

Published 7:23 am Monday, August 17, 2009

Ed Shannon, I heard of you, your Friday column and your interest of times passed through a friend. My wife had two uncles, Axel and Carl Johnson, who came to Albert Lea during the 1890s, both blacksmiths. Axel left but Carl stayed and died there Aug. 18, 1971.

He had two sons, Richard and Duane. Richard (with wife, Doris) had a grocery store at Myrtle around 1950-1965. Duane was a mechanical engineer and died there on Aug. 22, 2001. (His wife was Charlotte.) Is it possible for you to find an obituary in your paper for any of these, telling us of descendants? Thanks in advance!
