Rochester P.D. still looking into civil litigation

The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office has declined to pursue criminal charges against the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputy put on paid administrative leave at the end of May.

Freeborn County Administrator John Kluever said he was notified late last week that the Rochester Police Department concluded its criminal investigation into an allegation of misconduct by deputy Dale Glazier.

Kluever declined to release more information about the initial allegation but noted an internal affairs department with the Rochester Police Department is still investigating possible civil litigation.

He anticipated this part of the investigation to conclude by the end of this week.

Once the investigation is concluded, Freeborn County officials will review the findings to determine if any further steps need to be taken.

Glazier, 50, is running against incumbent Sheriff Bob Kindler and fellow deputy Kurt Freitag in the upcoming election. He was placed on paid leave only a few hours after he filed for office.

 

Kluever previously stated the investigation had no connection to the sheriff’s race, and Glazier said it would not keep him from continuing his campaign.

When contacted Tuesday, Glazier said he had not been contacted by the county about the investigation and wanted to wait to comment further.
