After 31 years of providing care to patients in the Alden and Wells areas, Gary Lamson, a family practice physician at Mayo Clinic Health System in Alden and Wells, is retiring July 31. Dr. Lamson has seen thousands of patients over the course of his medical career at Mayo Clinic Health System in both Alden and Wells, many of which were generations of families.
To honor Lamson’s years of great service and excellence and his upcoming retirement, a public open house retirement celebration will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Alden Community Center, 174 N. Broadway in Alden.
“Dr. Lamson is an exemplary physician who serves as a mentor for all physicians,” said Mark Ciota, CEO at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin. “He is caring and compassionate and always places the needs of the patient first. Dr. Lamson embodied the ideals of medicine by providing quality and excellence throughout his career. And just as important, he genuinely cares about his patients as people. We truly thank him for all he has accomplished in his professional career and wish him all the best during his retirement.”
