Published 10:19 am Thursday, July 17, 2014

The sixth annual Shinefest Tractor Ride is coming back to Albert Lea this weekend.

The tractor ride is part of AZ-One’s Shinefest, where members of the faith community come together to do community service projects. In the past these activities have included Rock the Block, oil changes for those in need, blood drives, Community Sew Day, spreading chips at playgrounds and installing a disc golf course. This year’s Shinefest Tractor Ride begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday with breakfast at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds, 1031 Bridge Ave.

Line-up begins at the fairgrounds at 8:30 a.m. There will be a driver’s meeting at that time. From the fairgrounds, the tractors will head toward Oak Park Place. The route continues to Thorne Crest Retirement Community, Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea, St. John’s Lutheran Community, Alden, Freeborn, Hartland and ends at the fairgrounds.
