MINNEAPOLIS — A Shorewood woman charged with killing her boyfriend and stuffing his body in a freezer has pleaded guilty during her trial.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s office said 30-year-old Jetaun Wheeler agreed to plead guilty Monday to second-degree unintentional murder.
Wheeler was on trial for second-degree intentional murder in the death of 58-year-old Eddie Sole.
Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 21. Prosecutors will seek a 15-year prison sentence, the maximum allowed under Minnesota sentencing guidelines.
Wheeler was accused of beating Sole with a closet rod, wrapping him in plastic and duct tape, then hiding him in a freezer in the garage because he was trying to break up with her.
Police believe he may have been frozen for weeks before the discovery last August at the suburban home the two shared.
