BLAINE — Anoka County authorities have charged a man with criminal sexual exposure after a crowd detained him at a Walmart when a woman said he sexually assaulted her.

The 59-year-old Jeffrey Pendzimas of Isanti was also charged Tuesday with indecent exposure and interfering with a 911 call in the Sunday incident.

The woman told police Pendzimas groped her and took a picture of her with his cell phone. She told them he swatted her phone out of her hand when she tried to call 911.

Police said a group of people kept Pendzimas in the store until officers arrived.

He is being held at the Anoka County Jail on $20,000 bond. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
