It’s no secret the search function on the Albert Lea Tribune’s was lacking in its ability to find intended content successfully.

This week, we have modified our search engine for the better.

We invite you to try our new search function. It employs the power of Google to assist our website readers in finding what they are looking for. The new results pages look like Google pages within the framework of the Tribune website, and they provide results based on timeliness, relevancy and content of the post, rather than merely what appeared in a headline.

Our goal is to serve you, our readers, and provide you with what you are looking for, whether you seek an item from several years ago or just recently. What isn’t available, of course, is content from before the advent of the Internet.

That, along with modern content, remains available at the Albert Lea Public Library or Freeborn County Historical Museum on microfilm. In other words, there are two main ways to delve into the past: website or microfilm.

What’s more, we sell newspapers up to one year after publication.
