The Albert Lea Police Department next Wednesday will present the results of a months-long study by the U.S. Department of Justice about the potential for human trafficking in Albert Lea.

The Justice Department’s Office of Justice Programs Diagnostic Center partnered with the police department with the goal of finding out more through data-gathering activities, training law enforcement and educating the community.

The presentation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. next Wednesday at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.

It will look at the factors in the community that have been identified as contributing to potential human trafficking, recommendations for evidence-based solutions, and how to engage community stakeholders and increase awareness.

In addition to the delivery of the report, there will also be time for feedback and questions.
