Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea is offering scholarships to students currently enrolled in college or technical school and non-traditional students.
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who have successfully completed at least one year at an accredited college or technical school. Students who live within Albert Lea’s service area, have a GPA of 3.0 or better, and a declared major in a health care field are eligible for the scholarships.
Two $1,000 scholarships are also available for “non-traditional” students, defined as those who are pursuing post-secondary education five or more years after completing high school or receiving a GED. To be eligible, students must live within Albert Lea’s service area and plan an education in the health care field.
Scholarships will be awarded primarily on the basis of commitment and leadership. Academic ability, attitude and values will also be taken into consideration.
Complete information and applications for the scholarships are available from Rita Olson at 507-377-6241 or on our website www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/locations/albert-lea under online services. Applications must be returned by Oct. 8. The scholarship committee will review applications and decisions will be reached by the end of October. Scholarships for high school seniors will be offered again in the spring of 2015.
Applications should be sent in care of Rita Olson, Mayo Clinic Health System, 404 W. Fountain St., Albert Lea, MN 56007.
