4 injured in rear-end collision on wet road

Four people were injured Friday afternoon after a rear-end collision on Bridge Avenue near the Interstate 90 overpass.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Wilbur A. Draayer, 78, and Patricia M. Draayer, 76, both of Hollandale, and Abigail Hamberg, 38, and Parker Hamberg, 11, both of Albert Lea, were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries that were deemed not life-threatening.
The State Patrol indicated Abigail Hamberg was driving a 2007 Ford Edge and was stopped at an intersection on the street when a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by Wilbur Draayer, rear-ended her vehicle. The report did not state which intersection the crash occurred.
A second passenger in Hamberg’s vehicle, William D. Hamberg, 56, of Albert Lea, was not injured. All of the occupants were wearing their seat belts, and no alcohol was detected.
The crash took place at 2:50 p.m., and the roadways were wet.
The report stated the Albert Lea Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance crews assisted at the scene.
Bridge Avenue is also known as Freeborn County Road 22.
