The city of Albert Lea conducted a study of the traffic signal at the intersection of Newton Avenue and Clark Street. This study was done because of the signal removals at William Street and Broadway and at Clark Street and Broadway. As a result of this study, the traffic signal at Newton Avenue and Clark Street will be removed and replaced with all-way stop signs.

To remove the traffic signal, the city is required to perform a removal study. Signal heads need to be flashing or covered for a minimum of 90 days. On Friday, the signals will be set to flash.
