The Albert Lea boys’ soccer team tied Rochester John Marshall under strange circumstances.
The Tigers led 3-2 Tuesday in overtime with seconds remaining when the clock stopped. However, the officials did not stop play, said Albert Lea coach Joe Squires.
The Rockets scored a goal while the clock was stopped but may have run out if it was run properly. Officials determined that the goal counted and a 3-3 tie was the result.
Foster Otten led Albert Lea defensively with nine saves.
Next, Albert Lea (1-4-1 overall, 0-3-1 Big Nine Conference) will host Red Wing (2-4 overall, 1-4 Big Nine Conference) at 7 p.m. Thursday.
