Man suffers heart failure after apparent wasp stings
A 57-year-old longtime Freeborn County employee died early this morning at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester after he was reportedly stung by dozens of wasps over the weekend near his garage at his rural Twin Lakes home.
Randy Jensen was the building and grounds supervisor for Freeborn County, where he had worked for 33 years.
Freeborn County Administrator John Kluever said Jensen went outside near his home on Saturday and was later found in his garage, having suffered from heart failure. Doctors later discovered the wasp stings.
“To the family and friends of Randy, our hearts go out to them,” said Kluever. “He will be very missed as a person and as an employee. It’s a hard one to take for the county.”
Kluever said Jensen enjoyed the outdoors.
