Many made art, garden tour a success

The Art Center’s 2009 art and garden tour was a success with thanks for weather that held for the event, even though a bit cool, and to many groups of people who made the tour possible. First of all, our sincere appreciation to the generous gardeners of our area who so willingly displayed their gardens and shared their expertise with the many visitors. The gardens were different, but all wonderful and showed the artistry and the careful attention of the gardener. We also thank the artists who were a fitting complement to nature’s splendor. The event could not have taken place without willing volunteers who took tickets, delivered signs, and did all the other tasks involved.
The Art Center is most grateful to Thrivent Financial for their supplementary funds that extend programming opportunities. Others deserving recognition are JensSales who donated the printing of the tickets and the Albert Lea Tribune and Geri McShane for its coverage of the event. We especially thank all our visitors who made the planning and work worthwhile with their questions, smiles, and words of appreciation.
