The Albert Lea volleyball team pushed Rochester Century to five games on Tuesday, but the Panthers won Game 5 to take the match.
Game scores were 19-25, 25-16, 26-24, 18-25 and 15-8.
“At times we were playing very well and controlling the match,” said Albert Lea coach Lisa Deyak. “We are striving for consistency. I’m proud of the way the girls are fighting for each point.”
Hope Landsman led the Tigers with 18 kills and 23 digs. The other two seniors on the roster — Kassi Hardies and Taylor Willis — combined with 15 kills.
“The seniors are stepping up and playing aggressively,” said coach Deyak.
Julia Deyak posted a team-high 43 assists to go with seven digs. Kass Jansen added 14 digs, and Allison Grandstrand had seven.
Next, Albert Lea will host Owatonna at 7:15 p.m next Tuesday. The Huskies are coming off a home loss against Faribault after winning three straight Big Nine Conference games.
