Bennett has a loyal following

I’m from Wells and Rep. Shannon Savick was our mayor years ago. In the last election our town had a higher voter turnout for her opponent. That should tell you something about how we felt about the job she did for us. Learn from the people who know her the best.
I sent Peggy Bennett a letter and did not expect to hear anything back from her. What really surprised me is that she actually took the time to call me. I feel that our representatives have lost touch with what it is to be a public servant and to loyally represent the interests of those who elected them. What I’ve learned through my interactions with Peggy Bennett is that she is not like what we have become accustomed to with politicians. She is running for the right reasons, as she has already had a successful career with 30 years as an Albert Lea elementary school teacher and isn’t seeking office for career reasons. She has a loyal following with generations of students and parents who keep in touch with her and are eagerly supporting her regardless of their party affiliation. With what I have learned of Peggy’s character and the genuine empathy that she has for others, it doesn’t surprise me at all that she was selected as the teacher of the year in 2011.
