Delores Piper, 1929-2014

Delores Mae (Coxson) Piper, 85, of Wells died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Monarch Meadows in North Mankato. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Wells United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Delores was born July 1, 1929, in Hubbard, Ohio, the daughter of Bert and Gertrude (Krause) Coxson. She married Harlan Piper on Nov. 27, 1947, in Sharon, Pa. Delores was a member of United Methodist Church and served on many committees. She also volunteered at Wells Senior Dining for many years and served on the board. She was a member of the Wells American Legion Auxiliary and the Wells VFW Auxiliary. Delores enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She is survived by her two daughters, Marla (husband, Dan) Froehlke of Wells; granddaughter, Jennifer (husband, Jamie) Linn, and their children Austin (special friend, Becca Holm) and her daughter, Myla, Thorson and Noelle of Elk River; grandson, Jason Froehlke (significant other, Stacey Doust) and daughters Scarlett Froehlke and Hope Robey of Eagle Lake; daughter, Janell (husband, Bob) Spelbink, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandsons Matthew Neubauer of Mankato and Mitchell (wife, Jackie) Neubauer of Stone Mountain, Ga.; sisters Bonnie Bika of Sharon and Beverly Campbell (husband, Joseph) of Marion, Ohio; brothers Delbert (wife, Shirley) Coxson of Farrell, Pa., and Eugene (wife, Kay) Coxson of Sebring, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harlan.
