Thanks for being in political forum

It is with great excitement that I thank Rep. Shannon Savick and candidate Peggy Bennett for participating in a recent legislative public forum hosted at Good Samaritan Society. Our elders, families and employees especially appreciated your willingness speak directly about senior health care issues. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas on ways to improve the lives of Minnesota seniors.
Because the legislative process controls a great portion of the revenue coming into Minnesota skilled nursing homes, we need strong legislative advocates to be our voice at the capital. Minnesota has not set Medicaid nursing home payment rates according to actual and allowable costs since 1997. It is important that Minnesota long-term care providers be reimbursed for the actual cost of taking care of our elders.
The ultimate goal is still to make our elders, employees and family members a priority at the capital. Thank you to both candidates for sharing their opinions and philosophies on Minnesota long-term care.
