James Follmuth, 1953-2014

Memorial services for James A. Follmuth of New Richland will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel. Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville.

James died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea. He was 61.

James was born June 2, 1953, in Albert Lea, the son of Berton and Marion (Cragg) Follmuth. He was a graduate of Glenville High School. James had been employed by the DME, Rock Island Railroad as an engineer for over 30 years. He had spent most of his life in Freeborn County and the past 23 years in New Richland.

James enjoyed farming and fixing farm equipment, puzzles and anything to do with maintenance.

He is survived by his mother, Marion Follmuth, of Glenville; sons Patrick (Dawn) Follmuth of Minooka, Ill., and James Follmuth of Waseca; one daughter, Amanda Follmuth, of Albert Lea; and grandson, Roman Banks. Brothers and sisters include Paul (Cindy) Follmuth of Northwood, Michael (Jan) Follmuth of San Diego, Peter (Mary Jo) Follmuth of Austin, Mary (John) Tenold of Northwood, Pamela (Scott) Tovar of Albert Lea and Patricia Crane of Maple Grove. James is survived by his lifetime friend Laurie. There are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Berton; brother, Greg; brother-in-law, Richard Crane; and nephew, Matthew Follmuth.
