AAUW plans next meeting

The American Association of University Women will meet at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at America’s Best Value Inn for the next meeting. The menu consists of crab cakes, half of a corn cob, mixed baby greens with vinaigrette, French bread and butter, and coffee for $14.
The program will be presented by Sharon Astrup-Scott. It will be titled “The Art of Teaching Music: Experience the Passion.” She will be assisted by her students, representing all age groups. Astrup-Scott runs her own music studio in Albert Lea and teaches students of all ages in voice, piano and strings.
Astrup-Scott earned a bachelor’s of music from Concordia College in Moorhead. She worked on her master’s of music in performance and education from Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C.
She began teaching in Minneapolis and has had numerous teaching assignments in Minnesota, including Rochester Public Schools, Mankato State and Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa.
