CLOQUET — Authorities have charged a woman in the stabbing death of another woman on the Fond du Lac Reservation.
Twenty-one-year-old Lydia Barney was charged Thursday with second-degree murder of 31-year-old Waubunoquay Dawn Randall in Stoney Brook Township on Sunday.
Police said Barney admits to being at Randall’s residence Sunday but said Randall was fine when she left.
They said they found Barney Tuesday with what appeared to be blood on her clothing. They said she admitted to having Randall’s phone
Police said Barney identified clothing as hers that was found in a nearby fire about two hours after police found the victim’s body.
Randall’s husband was arrested after the killing but was later released from custody and isn’t facing charges.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Barney has an attorney.
