Vikings earn No. 2 spot in standings

With a 28-6 home win over Rockford, the Northwood-Kensett football team finished No. 2 in the eight-team district standings.
Keano Batton found the end zone three times on the ground and had 24 carries for 92 yards for the Vikings.
In the third quarter, a 12-yard touchdown pass from Josh Einertson to Batton gave Northwood-Kensett a 28-0 lead.
After starting 0-2, the Vikings (6-3 overall, 6-1 District 3) have won six of their last seven games.
Northwood-Kensett’s only district loss was at Janesville (9-0 overall, 7-0 District 3).
Although the Vikings’ first postseason opponent has not been selected yet, the team will be in action at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
