Minnesota corrections officer sentenced to prison

GRAND RAPIDS — A former officer at a juvenile correctional facility in northern Minnesota has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old resident.
Devin Wood of Grand Rapids was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison Monday on three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is also required to register as a sex offender and will be subject to a lifetime conditional release.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to the charges in Itasca County court in September.
He assaulted the female resident at the North Homes Juvenile Correction Facility in Grand Rapids in April.
