The 87th annual Shortstop Tournament took place Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 at Green Lea Golf Course. The field of 128 was whittled down to two golfers — Brent Miller and Andy Peterson — who competed in a match-play final. Miller took the title in 2009 and repeated by drilling a 60-foot bomb on Hole 16. Miller’s caddie was Chris Baas, a seven-time Shortstop Tournament champion and winner of the championship consolation flight this year. Peterson’s brother, Steve Peterson, was his caddie.
