I was at the forum Tuesday night and left wondering which district Shannon Savick represents. She said a person can’t make a good living working with your hands but manufacturers in her district are working with the community college and high schools to get training for machinist welders and mechanics where good jobs are going begging.

Shannon also said businesses don’t care about high taxes when they look for a place to move. That may be true if they are looking for a major metropolitan area, but it’s not true if your district is trying to attract smaller manufacturers and borders on Iowa. I heard a rumor that Mason City and Clear Lake are donating to Shannon’s campaign and in the memo section of the check they write ”Job development for northern Iowa.” If you are looking for someone to represent us rather than big donors from metro areas, vote Peggy Bennett.
