Freitag lacks moral outlook

I grew up in the Glenville/Emmons area and I have been friends with and known Kurt Freitag for many years; however, I would like to tell you why I’m not voting for him but instead voting to re-elect Bob Kindler.
A few years back, I was drunk and out-of-control. The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office was called and deputy Marc Johnson along with a few other deputies responded. Deputy Johnson shocked me with a Taser and I was arrested. The whole time I was yelling for them to call my friend Kurt Freitag because he had always gotten me out of trouble before.
I ended up pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and was put on probation. One of my conditions of probation was to not drink. During my probation, my friend Kurt Freitag would cover for me and would drink with me. I have done things with Kurt Freitag that I am not proud of. What deputy Johnson and the other deputies did the night I was arrested was the right thing to do — their job. I respect them. Things Kurt Freitag has done are wrong and unethical, and I have no respect for him. I am no longer a friend of Kurt Freitag’s. I have grown up, and I have since changed my life.
Our sheriff needs to have moral standards and Kurt Freitag does not. I will vote to re-elect Sheriff Bob Kindler.
