1 arrested for DWI
Albert Lea police arrested Min Min, 34, for driving while intoxicated at 1:15 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of South Broadway and East College Street.
Firefighters respond to reported fire
Albert Lea firefighters responded to a report of a furnace fire at 5:56 a.m. Monday at the Landmark Apartments, 517 E. Fourth St. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a candle that had melted on the gas wall heater in one of the apartments, causing smoke in the building. Firefighters ventilated the building.
1 injured in crash
One person was injured Saturday morning after a silver vehicle reportedly hit a power pole near the intersection of Frank Avenue and East Front Street.
Albert Lea police reports listed Mercedes Jean Bidler, 16, as the driver. Passenger Audrina Marie Torres, 23, was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, and passenger Tina Marie Bidler, 40, was cited for no insurance.
Bomb squad detonates railroad torpedoes
A man reportedly came into the Law Enforcement Center at 1:57 p.m. Saturday who wanted to dispose of some railroad torpedoes. These are types of pressure-activated explosives that are placed on railroad tracks and create a loud noise when ran over.
The Bloomington Bomb Squad responded, and the railroad torpedoes were safely detonated at the Police Department’s gun range.
Cash stolen from locker room
Police received a report at 5:47 p.m. Sunday of $2,000 in cash that was stolen from the men’s locker room at St. John’s Lutheran Community, 901 Luther Place.
Break-ins reported
A shop and garage were reported broken into at 12:09 p.m. Saturday at 33195 640th Ave. in northwestern Freeborn County.
Albert Lea police received a report at 10:27 p.m. Friday of four children going through vehicles on James Street near the intersection with Third Street.
Stolen vehicles recovered
A 1996 white Cadillac Seville reported stolen from Winnebago County in Iowa was recovered at 11:26 p.m. Friday in Emmons.
A van reported stolen at 2:41 p.m. Monday from 513 Minnesota Ave. in Albert Lea. was recovered at Sumner School in Austin at 5:37 p.m. A 16-year-old from Austin was arrested.
Men arrested for domestic assault
Albert Lea police arrested Jeremiah Donicio Madrigal, 37, for a local warrant and felony domestic assault at 10:06 a.m. Saturday at 114 N. Eighth Ave.
Albert Lea police arrested Marvin Rashi Dildy, 33, for domestic assault at 7:51 p.m. Monday at 907 Gene Ave.
Hit-and-runs reported
A hit-and-run crash was reported at 12:18 p.m. Sunday at 814 Jefferson Ave.
A hit-and-run crash was reported at 11:25 a.m. Monday at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 2002 E. Main St.
Damage reported
A back light was reported broken out of a red Ford Taurus at 5:38 p.m. Saturday at 314 Lakeview Boulevard.
A window was reported broken on a house at 3:30 p.m. Monday at 2401 Larson Ave. Damage was estimated at $500.
Wallet stolen from vehicle
A wallet with $400 in cash was reported taken from a vehicle at 3:54 p.m. Monday at 2302 Margaretha Ave. There was a suspect in the case.
Attempted car break-in reported
Albert Lea police received a report at 12:23 a.m. today of a car alarm going off at 720 St. Peter Ave. The owner of the vehicle stated she believed someone was attempting to get into the vehicle. The vehicle was checked, and nothing was missing.

Police received a report at 1:27 a.m. today of a black man outside of a window with a camera, dark pants and a vest at 1219 S. Newton Ave.
