The coaching carousal for the Albert Lea girls’ hockey team continued Wednesday with the resignation of head coach Scott Ball.
Albert Lea Area Schools Superintendent Mike Funk said Ball was placed on administrative leave and later left the program due to personal reasons. He worked for the district for about a month and was the Tigers’ third head coach in the last two seasons.
Albert Lea’s former assistant coaches Bob Furland, Jason Fornwald and Jacqui Jepson will share coaching duties, Funk said.
Ball coached the team through the first four games of the season, and the Tigers posted a 1-3 overall record.
In Albert Lea’s first game after Ball was placed on leave, the team fell 7-2 on Tuesday at home against Mankato East/Loyola.
The Tigers’ next game will be Nov. 28 at the New Prague tournament with Cambridge-Isanti, Academy of Holy Angels and New Prague.
